Battery not detected after BIOS update
Dear Sony Vaio experts,
I have downloaded the BIOS for my SVF14N25CXB sony official site and update the BIOS accordingly.
When I start my laptop after updating BIOS it goes to assist and failed to n=boot windows. Then I go to BIOS setup and changed the boot to Legacy from UEFI and start my windows 10 64 bit. But the battery icon in taskbar is showing 100%, but I know this should be not more than 50%.
I restart laptop, plug and unplug charging adapter several time but it showing 100%. Then searching in google for solve and open back cover and disconnect and reconnect battery. But not solve the problem. Then I disconnect main battery & CMOS battery also and press down the power key for 30-40 second as instruction from online.
After that when I try to start my laptop it was not starting, then I plug the charging adapter charging indicator (yellow light) have been blipping but start laptop normally. But showing no battery icon in taskbar. And when I unplug the charge plug it instantly go off. Then I open the battery and try to measure the voltage by multimeter and found there is no charge/voltage in battery.
Also note there is no ISB Utility (program/foler) in my laptop.

Facing problem while entering into BIOS setup.
Hi friends
I am using Sony VAIO E series VPCEH25EN model laptop. Initially I buy laptop with windows home basic genuine os later I directly updated to windows 10 through online. Now I am trying to install another os parallel with current os.
Now the real problem started, I am unable to see the BIOS SETUP in boot options. It displays only VAIO RESCUE OPTIONS only.
I also try to run the os in VMware Work Station here also I am facing the problem like
Intel VT-x might be disabled if it has been disabled in the BIOS/firmware settings or the host has not been power-cycled since changing this setting.
(1) Verify that the BIOS/firmware settings enable Intel VT-x and disable 'trusted execution.'
(2) Power-cycle the host if either of these BIOS/firmware settings have been changed.
(3) Power-cycle the host if you have not done so since installing VMware Workstation.
(4) Update the host's BIOS/firmware to the latest version.
So please help me to fix these errors.

SVF15N190x memory (RAM) upgrade to 2x8gb
SVF15N190x PDF says that this notebook is upgrade-able to 16GB RAM, but does not state how many slots are available. Secondly, are memory (RAM) slots accessed easily once the bottom cover is removed? In the video I watched on Youtube, I could only make out what appeared to be one (1) RAM card .. but this might have been a 13 inch? In other words, is the RAM card(s) accessible as easily as the battery is? The other answer I found on this site was not thorough or informative enough. It simply said this was secret information .. what!

VAIO svf15n17cxb Bios Update
I currently have the Windows 10 upgrade. My question is if I should try to update my BIOS or not. I came across this link here: https://esupport.sony.com/US/p/swu-download.pl?mdl=SVF15N17CXB&upd_id=10104&os_group_id=24 - But it says it's only for Windows 8.1. Not sure if it would work on Windows 10 or not.
Should I just assume that any BIOS updates will be fed through the VAIO Update Control Panel and not to worry abou it?

Windows 10 upgrade: No OS Upgrade mode
I upgraded from Windows 8 to 10. VAIO Control Center no longer available, so battery stops charging at 80%.
I have downloaded VAIO update program and done all automatic and manual updates. However, there was never any "OS Upgrade Mode" that I read about in these upgrade instructions. When I try to download the specific update for the Control Center from this page, it says that "A newly version has already been installed on your computer. Installation is stopped".
Please advise, I would love to get my computer its fully battery potential again...

VAIO T series. Where is recovery partion stored SSD or HDD?
Laptop model: SVT13125CNS
Current OS: Windows 8.1
Factory installed OS: Windows 8
I have SSD (32GB) and HDD (500GB). Recently I replaced my old corrupted HDD with the new one. I was wondering if the OEM recovery partition is still stored in SSD? (please note I have never made any recovery disc).
Below link is the snap shot of the disk management. What is 11.22GB inside SSD? Is it a recovery?
Additional info.
When I try to install VAIO Care (Rescue Mode) Update version it throws error saying recovery partition is deleted.

- Restart computer

- Setup is installing devices. (100%)
- Setup is applying system settings
- Setup will coninue to restart computer
- Setup is preparing your computer for first use
- Welcome / Windows 7 Home Premium (startup screen)
- Windows Setup / Windows is now setting up the following items: VAIO Care Rescue
Recovering (installing several drivers)
- Shutting down
- Starting Windows
- Setup is preparing your computer for first use
- Configurates Windows updates
- Starting Windows
- Setup is preparing your computer for first use
- Welcome / Windows 7 Home Premium (startup screen)
- Windows Setup / Windows is now setting up the following items: VAIO Care Rescue
Recovering (installing several drivers)
- You must restart your computer to apply these changes
- Starting Windows

Everytings looks good but then there is a error:
Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation.
I have tried it 4 times but get this error every time.
Do you have any advice how to go further?

Upgrade SSD and RAM
Hi i have a SVD13215CLW and it is a grate machine, 8GB RAM, 125 SSD etc
So, for RAM
- Please let me know if RAM upgrade is possible and what is the max capacity possible.
- If upgrade is possible what is the part no. of RAM module from Sony or compatible part
- If upgrade is possible, is it recommended to replace the existing pre-installed RAM module too for better sync between the 2 modules or it would not make any difference.
FOR SSD
- Please let me know if SSD upgrade is possible to 500 gb or 1Tb capacity
- If upgrade is possible what is the compatible part

motherboard upgrade
i have a sony vaio pcv-460 tower(its working fine ) but i want to change the mother board to a newer board . faster cpu.more memory ect,,,can any one tell what kind of board i need that will fit,so i can just plug it in ,, i cant seem to figure it out lol,, any help would be nice . thank you.
