hello, i have a svd11215clb (svd1121a1yu) and i deleted all partitions for install windows 7, many years ago.
nowaday, is in legacy with windows 8.1 working, but i ve upgraded the bios from windows and deffault settings are (i guess) then, has changed to uefi, and appear the message "operating system not found"
im dommed!
no assist recovery vaio rescue mode
no OS, f1-12 keys dont work, says the message

Upgrade SSD m.2 and clean install in VAIO pro 13
Hi,
I'm a proud owner of VAIO pro 13, which comes with an XP941 m.2 ssd, I just bought the SM951 m.2 ssd for upgrade mine right, I can install the first part of Windows 10 with an USB but I'm stuck here:
After that windows can't continue with the installation, I think that is something with the UEFI and secure boot, not sure, I hope you can help me.

How to find out what support was purchased with my VAIO Purchase
I had made a online purchase in Jan 2014 for a work laptop... I normally purchase full support
for hardware and software ... for 3 years..
Unforutnately, I cannot find my electronic receipt and do not have any phone numbers...
I registered using the same email address but the site has disapperared since SONY and VAIO
seperated... I have been buyinf SONY products for the last 25 years and I trust SONY to be a reputable company but the latest run around I have been getting has shaken my faith and confidence in SONY.

Sony Vaio SVP132A1CL How to downgrade to Windows 8 from upgrading to Windows 10
Hello Everyone,
I am trying to fix my mom's laptop but it's been 5 days and still not successful.
My mom upgraded her laptop (SVP132A1CL) OS from Wins 8 to Wins 10. She wants to downgrade back to Wins 8. I tried going to recovery since the install of Wins 10 was less than 10 days and did not find the option to downgrade. I then tried installing Wins 8 and Wins 7 by turning off the computer and using the Assist button and installing from boot from USB. for some reason the install would not let me install Wins 8 or 7.
I didn't create backups or restore point.
I also tried calling customer support but seems i would have to pay a one time fee of $100 or periodic help for $299.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

After upgrade from Vista to Windows 7, my battery has stopped charging.
After upgrade from Vista to Windows 7, my battery has stopped charging. It shows (plugged in not charging). Tried new battery, holding pwr button with no battery, reinstalling ACPI driver and same thing. (When I reinstall the battery ACPI driver it says unable to install) "Base system Device No driver Found" Checked BIOS and there was an battrey issue update, but for "Vista". Since I now have Win 7 is it ok to install it?

VPCCW1BGN - After changing the hdd original recovery discs are failed to install OS. What is the cause?
Sony Vaio VPCCW1BGN - There is some problem with preinstalled HARD DISK so i had replaced it with the same brand "TOSHIBA" with storage capacity of 1TB, Earlier it was 250GB. But after installation of new Hard Disk the Original Recovery Discs cann't install the OS Properly. Can Anyone tell what should be exact cause?

How to restore windows on new hard drive for vpcf121 fx?
Several months before my hard drive has got damaged and made me buy a new one. I bought the same hd for recovering the original windows from back up. (western digital 500 gb, 5400). But I couldn't recover the Window on it. How can I recover my back up on it?

pcg 7d2l ram upgraded,, why black screen ?
VAIO nice pc my daughte gave us, she upgraded..
so anyways,,.i just swapped the HD and had vista os available installed it running smooth. BUT.. BEFORE i changed the HD and installed an OS, i pulled the 256 and 512 memory sticks, attempted multiple times to put in at least a 1 GB stick, but no matter what way i go i get no boot just black screen. even after vista install.
Q: does it not like me? or do i need sony OEM sticks? OR will she just not able take a 1GB stick ..?/
gonna see if i got another 512 stick in older sony...
my n button sticks on the vaio,i gotta buy a keyboard on ebay and then my guy now has a decent laptop for the garage..
maybe it'll do ok w no ram upgrades

Vaio cant boot without cable
Hi Community,
Im having a weird problem with my Sony Vaio Pro 13 (SVP1321L1E).
System check says everything works fine. BUT:
Sometimes when I try to boot the Vaio, and he is not connected to the power, it wont boot, even though the battery is full. I have to connect the cable then, start, and then I can unplug the laptop and it works fine.
I tried a factory reset and everything but nothing helps, also not the fancy battery reset button on the back.
Maybe someone had the same problem?
The battery got exchanged once by Sony support (it died), but now my warranty time is over and I dont want to pay a fortune for a new.

my Sony vaio laptop model number is VPCEA46FG.i had windows 7 installed on it by default.then i installed windows 8.1 and now i again want to go back to windows 7 which was much better.but when i try to boot from dvd,'an operating system could not be found' pops up and hence i cannot boot from that dvd which is not blank and works well on other computers.also,when i try to changes the secure boot option,assist key does not work.it displays the same error.please help

Windows 8 camera not working
Hi There,
Recently I saw a notification @ VAIO care regarding Windows 10 Upgrade. After performing the upgrade, I could see that my webcam and microphone stopped working. I tried all possible ways but it did not work. Finally I had to remove Windows 10 and I came back to Windows 8.
Problem is, now webcam and microphone are not working in windows 8 too. I have tried all options including factory reset but nothing is helping.
Below message is coming in Device Manager --> Imaging Devices --> USB 2.0 Camera
'Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)
To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.'

My VPCJ118FX hard drive failed. I am rebuilding with Windows 7 Recovery Media obtained from Sony Encompass. All four recovery DVDs load successfully. Setup starts services, installs devices 100%, and starts to apply system settings, followed by the following message:

Greetings, excuse my language in English, use a translator, I have a Vaio Laptop model VPCF117FX with OS Window 7, I had a problem, my laptop caught a virus, and put reformat, all starts well but I get this message, "Window could not complete the installation. to Install Windows on this computer, restart the installation" I have also left me this other message "Window Septup could not Set Window to run on this computers hardware" is no longer there to do that I could advise in that case I can do, I formatted my laptop Other times and has gone well, I used the Vaio Care as a guide for formatting and I have done with the album I've done recovery, my laptop,I used the assist button with the laptop off too, but still gets the following message "Setup is starting Services, and all the time in that message, as I fix remains, I'm sad

Automatic Repair failed. Refresh options failed. Solid state i7
Automatic repair could not repair my C drive...the computer froze during an update, and automatic repair can't repair the drive. It ran up to 36% repaired and then froze and shut off again. Every attempt to reboot afterwards simply yielded a message saying that automatic repair couldn't fix the issue, and then it gave me the option to select an advanced repair option like refreshing the computer. Nothing worked. Even when I opted to lose my data. It's a solid state hard drive with a removable battery etc. This model: Sony VAIO P SVP13215PXB. Help? It's the i7 processor
